During last Friday’s game, Abshire recovered a fumble and returned it 84 yards for a touchdown, contributing to Lafayette’s efforts against Acadiana.

Despite Abshire’s impressive play, the Lafayette Mighty Lions were defeated by the Wreckin’ Rams with a final score of 42-21.

The week 8 Game of the Week will feature the East Ascension Spartans facing off against the Teurlings Rebels.

The Spartans, who are currently 5-2, defeated St. Amant 49-48 in their most recent game.

Meanwhile, Teurlings is a perfect 7-0 record after a 49-0 victory over North Vermilion.

East Ascension’s offensive coordinator, Dane Charpentier, previously served as the head coach for Teurlings, where he led the team to a 65-32 record over eight seasons.
