Harley rider dead after crash on Visalia highway

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A motorcyclist is dead after crashing on a Visalia highway Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

Just before 3 p.m., CHP says a man was riding his Harley-Davidson Sportster west on Highway 198 when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into a raised curb.

CHP says the impact caused the rider to be ejected onto the westbound Akers Street onramp. He was transported to a local hospital, where CHP says he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the CHP Visalia Area Office during normal business hours at 559-734-6767.
