Caught on camera: Police seek help identifying suspect in high school theft case
A $1,500 sports camera belonging to the Mountain Crest High School soccer team went missing a number of weeks ago without an explanation, according to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. Now, deputies say they have found an image of the person they believe has the camera.
Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office told ABC4.com that they were alerted to the case after a member of the team’s coaching staff opened an app that connects to the camera automatically. On the app, the coach found an image of a man which was recently captured by the camera.
“We believe [he] is the person who has the camera,” Lt. Bartschi said.
Currently, police have not been able to identify the man from the image. Deputies are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
Anyone who may recognize the suspect are asked to call dispatch at 435-753-7555.
The above information involved allegations only. Charges have yet to be filed on the individual in question.
