Suspects in aggravated assault, burglary caught in Vernon Parish
LEESVILLE, La. (WNTZ) – The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced multiple recent arrests, including charges related to aggravated assault, unauthorized entry, and criminal mischief, according to Sheriff Sam Craft.

On Oct. 16, deputies arrested Elijah Douglas, 19, of Leesville, on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Bond has not yet been set, and Douglas remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

On Oct. 19, two Anacoco residents were taken into custody on separate charges. Cayleb Dylan Smith, 19, was arrested and charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bradley James Smith, 17, was arrested on charges of principal to unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and criminal mischief – depriving use or access to property.

Both Cayleb and Bradley Smith remain in the Vernon Parish Jail pending bond hearings.

Note: All suspects named are innocent until proven guilty.
