Randy Fandal takes Oath of Office as Mayor of Slidell

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — The City of Slidell officially has a new mayor after former Police Chief Randy Fandal took the Oath of Office Tuesday morning, Oct. 21.

The ceremony comes a week after Fandal beat incumbent Bill Borchert with 72% of the vote in the Oct. 11 election.

He says residents will see change when he brings his leadership skills from the Slidell Police Department to the mayor’s office.

“Every decision I make will be to service you. I promise, I will be your partner in making Slidell cleaner, safer and a more prosperous community for all. Thank you again for your trust. Together lets build a brighter future for Slidell,” said Fandal.

As for who will serve as Slidell’s Interim Chief of Police, Fandal has picked Administrative Officer Daniel Seuzeneau to fill the roll, who was also sworn in Tuesday.

Seuzeneau is a “highly decorated veteran officer,” who began his law enforcement career 20 years ago as a patrolman and has since gone on to serve as liaison, detective and sergeant, in his law enforcement career.
