According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department, around 5:54 p.m. on October 16th, deputies attempted to stop a black Can-Am UTV in the 1000 block of S. White Road.
Authorities said the driver, Harold Thompson, of Rochelle, took off driving eastbound through an open field.
Deputies were able to locate Thompson driving south on Church Road and then east on Kings Road before driving across several more fields before stoppping in a business entrance in the 1200 block of N. Caron Road, police said.
Thompson was arrested and charged with aggravated fleeing to elude, speeding 21-25 mph over the speed limit, failure to stop at an intersection, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a non-highway vehicle on the roadway, and reckless operation of a non-highway vehicle.
He was processed at the Ogle County Jail and then released with a notice to appear at a future court date.
