According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to investigate a driving complaint around 12:25 a.m., near the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Beck Road.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a black Ford Escape, near the intersection of IL 38 and Dement Road, and activated lights and sirens in an attempt to get the driver, identified as Donna Di Nardo, 62, of Des Plaines, to stop.
Di Nardo did not yield to authorities, however, and led deputies on a slow-speed pursuit through the city of Rochelle, authorities said.
Stop sticks, used to deflate a vehicle’s tires, were thrown in her path several different times during the pursuit, police said.
Eventually, the vehicle stopped on Intermodal Drive, just west of Jack Dame Road.
Di Nardo faces a litany of charges, including: aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing to elude, aggravated driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, DUI drugs, driving on a suspended license, fleeing to elude, two McHenry County warrants for failure to appear in court on aggravated assault charges, and a failure to appear in Waushara County, Wisconsin court.
She was also cited for various traffic offenses.
Di Nardo was booked into the Ogle County Jail, where she was held on the active warrants.
