NSU symposium sparks student interest in math and physics

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — About 100 middle and high school students explored hands-on applications of math and physics during Northwestern State University’s Engineering Technology Symposium and Manufacturing Day on October 17, 2025.

According to a news release, this event is hosted each October in celebration of National Manufacturing Month. The event connected students with regional industry professionals, showcased career paths, and demonstrated how math and science are used in manufacturing and electronics.

NSU’s Department of Engineering Technology partners closely with area industries to ensure graduates are prepared for high-demand, high-paying jobs in the region.
