OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Opelousas Oct. 2.

Roderick Johnson Jr., 17, is charged with seven counts of attempted first degree murder and one count each of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, aggravated criminal property damage and assault by drive-by shooting.

The shooting took place in the 900 block of Wallior Street, where witnesses said they heard as many as 100 rounds fired from what they think were automatic weapons. Bullets struck a home and a car, authorities said.

Authorities said Johnson confessed to his involvement and identified another suspect who participated in the shooting. More arrests are expected.
