Fresno's Selland Arena is getting a $605,000 upgrade
Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer announced the “much-needed upgrade” on Thursday and said it will modernize the “iconic downtown venue.”
“A modern scoreboard will add to the energy and excitement that makes an event unforgettable. This upgrade will ensure Selland Arena continues to be a premier destination for world-class entertainment,” Dyer said.
According to the city, the current scoreboard was installed 18 years ago and has become increasingly unreliable. They add that its technology is no longer supported, making repairs both impractical and cost-prohibitive.
YourCentralValley.com reached out to the city to confirm whether the board will be installed before the Fresno State Men’s Basketball Nov. 30 game.
