Caldwell County man gets 11-15 years for meth trafficking

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Caldwell County man will serve 11 to 15 years in prison following his conviction for trafficking methamphetamine by possession and transportation.

Keenan Ryan Michaux, 35, will also have to pay a mandatory fine of $100,000.

Michaux was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding by a Caldwell County deputy Nov. 24, 2024. A K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics, and deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants.

Michaux was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, confirmed by the North Carolina State Crime Lab.

He will serve his period of incarceration in the custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.
