Deputies performed a traffic stop in the Lower Cedar Valley Road area, where they found 34.4 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and about $1,300 in cash.
The driver, 33-year-old Jalen Michael Marquis Shade, was charged with trafficking in heroin or opium, possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“This arrest is another example of our continued commitment to removing deadly drugs from our community. Fentanyl is taking too many lives, and our deputies are working hard every day to stop its spread,” Sheriff Kevin Bean said.
Officials say this is an ongoing investigation.
