One person dead after shooting near Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Wednesday evening.

According to emergency medical services, around 6:30 p.m., the coroner’s office was called to a reported shooting on Platt Drive, near Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge.

No further details were immediately available.

Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to contact the Baton Rouge Police Department at 225-389-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.

This is an ongoing investigation.
