SHREVEPORT, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — Calvary’s hunt to get back to the dome is in full swing. The Cavaliers are 5-1 on the year and the goal of winning state is no stranger, after winning it in 2023. Through the first six games this team feels different and have been improving every week.

“From this year, it’s just different from years past like I said with this team. We came out, you know, in the early weeks and I saw something in this team, just the aggressiveness and us playing together that I haven’t seen in the past year,” senior safety Luke Miller said. “We came out firing and I feel like we’re going to continue to do that, just, progress more and more and just continue to play as a team rather than individuals.”

Coming into the season, the Cavaliers lost a good chunk of starters, which called for some players to play in positions they haven’t before.

“We’re getting better, you know, we replaced about 18 starters off last years team, so, we’ve gotten better every week and this week’s a big game for us,” head coach Rodney Guin said. “Hopefully we can keep progressing and you know, I think in the playoffs we’ll do okay.

Calvary will host Union Parish on Friday, October 17, as they look to win their fifth straight game.
