Man killed in Danville fire identified

(KRON) — A fire inside the garage of a Danville residence on Monday afternoon turned deadly. Authorities said that the fire led to one fatality, adding that the body was found inside the vehicle parked in the garage.

The person found dead was identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office as 68-year-old Danville man John Domanico.

According to the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District (SRVFPD), crews responded around 1 p.m. to a Danville home at an unspecified location. Upon arrival at the home, firefighters worked “an aggressive fire attack” due to heavy smoke and fire found in the garage.
