Taco Bell employee shot and killed in Indian Trail; suspect still wanted: Sheriff

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Taco Bell employee has lost their life in a shooting on Monday night, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

The UCSO reported that deputies responded at 8:50 p.m. Oct. 13 to the Taco Bell on Independence Blvd in Indian Trail. They confirmed that a shooting had occurred at the location. 

Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, officials confirmed that an employee had lost their life in the shooting. The suspect is said to have driven off in a car. Detectives are working to compile a description of the shooting suspect and vehicle.

The restaurant and surrounding area have been secured, and the Taco Bell will remain closed while the investigation continues.

This incident comes a week after officials say people setting off fireworks caught the Biscuitville across the street on fire.
