According to a news release, officers were conducting a safety inspection along I-40 in Crawford County on October 11 when they found six pallets of illegal marijuana hidden amongst a shipment of pool tables.
The illegal marijuana shipment weighed about 3,000 pounds, according to the release.
“This seizure underscores the commitment and vigilance of AHP officers to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of our roadways,” AHP Chief Jeff Holmes said.
In 2025, AHP Officers have seized over 23,000 pounds of illegal drugs on our Highways.
The driver, Steve Williams, 43, was believed to be traveling from California to Florida.
Williams was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and simultaneous possession of firearm and is currently being held at the Crawford County Detention Center.
