Moving New Orleans Forward anchor LBJ spoke with Founder and CEO Glenn Singleton, who says the dialogue is needed.
“Courageous Conversation is a three-decade-old racial justice organization. We’ve been engaging across many sectors education, corporations, non-profit, helping people to establish a way in these organizations that they can address the racial achievement disparities that show up,” said Singleton.
Its 15th annual summit is being held in New Orleans from Oct. 11 to Oct. 15, at a time when Singleton says the dialogue is needed more now than ever.
“Times change very fast, I can’t say that courageous conversations weren’t always necessary but over the past 10 months, we have seen a real assault on human justice. Courageous Conversation provides that methodology for us actually to come together and practice the ancient art of conversation,” said Singleton.
Guest speakers at this year’s summit include some big national names and breakout sessions aimed at conversing and strengthening a room full of educators and others here in shaping tomorrow.
“I want people to believe that we actually have the power to bring about the change that we want to see in this world,” said Singleton.
