On Monday, the LSU Presidential Search Committee announced new meeting dates and a revised timeline to announce the successor to William Tate.
Tate left LSU earlier this year and was soon named President at Rutgers University.
The revised timeline reflects a scheduling adjustment to accommodate university leadership’s planned visit to the White House on October 20, in recognition of LSU’s championship baseball teams. As a result, the search committee will convene on the following dates:
Thursday, October 23, 2025 – 1:30 p.m.
The committee will review the feedback and determine which individuals will be formally invited to apply for the presidency.
Wednesday, October 29, 2025 – 9:00 a.m. (until completion)
The committee will conduct interviews with applicants and select three finalists to recommend to the LSU Board of Supervisors.
Following the identification of finalists, a series of meetings will be held with key LSU stakeholders.
A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be scheduled to select and appoint the next president of LSU formally.
