The Gorillas opened with a 10-0 first quarter before Washburn got on the board in the second thanks to an eight-yard touchdown pass from Logan Madden to Ky Thomas.
Pittsburg State would get back to work and outscore the Ichabods 24-3 from that point on to get the win.
Madden got his first start of the season for the Ichabods, throwing 14-28 for 128 yards and the score.
Washburn was held to 26 rushing yards on 22 attempts while giving up 260 in contrast.
Pittsburg State had 481 total yards of offense in the win.
Defensively the Ichabods were led by J.C. Heim with 12 total tackles while L.J. Minner Jr. had nine. Kamble Havercamp and nine tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss.
Washburn is back at home on Oct. 18 against the University of Central Missouri for its ‘Pink Out’ game.
Kickoff from Yager Stadium is set for 2 p.m.
