MARSHALL, Tx. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Marshall Police Department has arrested a juvenile on charges related to threatening statements made towards a local school.
The arrest follows a report received on October 9, 2025, prompting immediate action from investigators.
Parents and family members share concerns on Facebook regarding the threat and concerns for their child’s safety.
“My kid will not be going to school Today because the threat of the shooting today until this is all situated! Not putting my child’s life at risk!” one user shared.
Another voice’s concern for her grandchild, “Is this the harsh reality our children must face, where fear of violence in schools is a constant concern? How can we create safe havens for them to grow and thrive?”
The Marshall Police Department released a statement stating they are working closely with the Marshall Independent School District Police Department and the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office to conduct a thorough investigation.
As a result, authorities were able to identify and arrest the child responsible for the alleged threats.
Due to the suspect being a minor and the ongoing investigation, officials have not disclosed any identifying information at this time.
The school says every parent and staff member at MJHS was emailed concerning the situation.
