Pumpkin Shine is an annual event where over 90 pumpkins decorated by local students will “shine” along the walking trails of Betty Virginia Park. Themed displays from local businesses, churches, non-profit organizations, and schools will be present throughout the park.
Pumpkin Shine will feature food from local eateries, along with a variety of activities for guests of all ages, including performances by local school cheerleaders, choir, and dance teams, as well as face painting. Three local school art programs will win cash prizes for their pumpkin displays, voted on by a panel of judges.
“Southfield School is thrilled to once again partner with SPAR to host Pumpkins Shine,” said Sunny Huckaby, Southfield’s Head of School. “This community event is a highlight of the season! We eagerly await seeing the incredibly creative displays that schools, businesses, and individuals design for this unique event at Betty Virginia Park.”
The family-friendly event is free and will take place on Tuesday, October 21, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Shreveport’s Betty Virginia Park. Free transportation from the Sears parking lot at Mall St. Vincent will be available via iShuttle.
