Southern University host week-long homecoming events: See when, where

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Southern University Jaguars are set to celebrate homecoming, starting Sunday, Oct. 12.

This year’s theme is “Jaguars for Life.”

The university is hosting a number of events throughout the week for students, alumni, and members of the community.

The Jags are set to face the Prairie View A&M Panthers in A.W. Mumford Stadium at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18.

Here’s a schedule of events:

Sunday, Oct. 12

  • Homecoming Parade
    • 1 p.m.
    • Starts at Harding Boulevard and Rosewood Street, north on Harding, turns right onto Scenic Highway, then another right onto Scotland Avenue. The route ends at Scotlandville High School.
  • Rhythm & Roots: SU Family Day
    • Commuter Parking Lot, 3 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 13

  • Ecumenical Service
    • F.G. Clark Activity Center, 10 a.m.
  • Ride or Dye Art Activity*
    • Smith-Brown Memorial Union Courtyard, noon to 3 p.m.
  • Fast Lane Fashion Show*
