Red River Parish, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A man was stabbed and another arrested during a church service in what the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office is calling an “unprovoked attack”.

A stabbing was reported to the Red River Parish 911 Communications on Friday, October 9, 2025, at approximately 6:07 p.m., an event near the Village of Martin in Red River Parish.

Deputies arrived at Man Church on LA 507 just west of Martin at approximately 6:20 p.m. to find that the stabbing occurred during a church service, and the church was also serving as a host location for a blood donation drive.

The initial investigation revealed that an employee of LifeShare Blood Center was stabbed multiple times in “an unprovoked attack.” The victim was transported to Christus-Coushatta Emergency Room by RRPSO deputies for treatment of injuries presumed to be non-life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as Ethan Kade Anderson, 27, was an attendee at the Man Church event and remained on the scene following the stabbing. He was detained around 7:14 p.m and brought to Christus Coushatta Emergency Room by RRPSO deputies for treatment of a cut on his hand and booked into the Red River Parish Jail upon medical discharge. Anderson faces a single count of aggravated second-degree battery and awaits a bond.
