1 killed in hit-and-run crash on I-65 on south side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after at least one person was killed in a hit-and-run on Indy’s south side Friday night.

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash occurred at the 104.8-mile marker of Interstate 65 near Edgewood Avenue just before 11 p.m.

Investigators reported that a motorcycle and a separate car were involved in the incident. An Indiana Department of Transportation notification indicated that at least one person died in the crash.

Investigators said they located the striking car, but are still actively looking for the driver.

No other information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
