Man fatally shot while sitting in vehicle on Chicago’s Far South Side

CHICAGO (WGN) — A 32-year-old man was shot and killed Friday afternoon while sitting in a vehicle on Chicago’s Far South Side, police say.

The shooting occurred in the 9700 block of South Princeton Avenue in the city’s Washington Heights neighborhood just before 2:30 p.m.

Police say the victim was sitting inside a parked vehicle when several unknown male offenders approached, pulled out firearms and opened fire.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The offenders fled in an unknown direction, and no one is currently in custody.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
