LSUS Pilots invited to White House after perfect season
The LSUS Pilots achieved a record of 59-0 this past season, making it the university’s first-ever National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship in any sport. The pilots will be recognized as the first college baseball team in history to have an undefeated season.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson extended the White House visitation. Johnson reached out to the baseball team during the celebration held on June 2 in downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza.
The LSUS baseball team was inducted into the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars during a ceremony in August. Individuals are usually inducted, but they are the second group to join the Walk of Stars, following the Centenary College Choir.
The baseball team will visit the White House on October 20.
