Cold front brings pleasant weather
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A cold front has moved through and is bringing strong winds and drier conditions to Acadiana. While the full effects of this front won’t be felt right away, we will see sunshine and breezy conditions through the remainder of the day. Temperatures reach the mid 80s by lunchtime and near 90 degrees this afternoon. Winds will be gusty at times, with gusts over 20 miles per hour at times. Tonight, pleasant weather settles in with temperatures settling in the upper 50s north of I-10 and lower 60s down closer to the coast. A nice breeze will make it feel even better.

In the tropics, we are following Tropical Storm Jerry near the Lesser Antilles which is gradually getting stronger. Jerry will miss the islands as it turns northward and heads into open Atlantic waters where it will become a hurricane.
