Man accused of fleeing shooting scene in Livingston Parish arrested
The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a disturbance involving a gunshot near North Cafe Line and Skinner Lane around 9 p.m.
According to Sheriff Jason Ard, the suspect, Brian Williams, 54, fled the scene but was later stopped by officers from the Albany Police Department.
“The suspect that fired a weapon had fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was stopped by our partners with Albany PD. The suspect was found to be under the influence. Through investigation, detectives learned an argument led to a shot being fired. Detectives would also locate the weapon used,” Ard said.
Williams is currently held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center on multiple charges, including DWI, illegal use of weapons from a roadway, and felon in possession of a firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
