Katie Porter’s contentious interview goes viral

Gubernatorial candidate and former U.S. Rep. Katie Porter is facing backlash for trying to prematurely end an interview with a local reporter in Sacramento.

Porter, a Democrat who represented Orange County in Congress, was asked what she’d say to supporters of President Donald Trump, a bloc she seemed to initially dismiss before reiterating her bona fides as the representative of a purple district when pressed on the issue.

“I feel like this is unnecessarily argumentative. What is your question?” Porter asked of the interviewer, as detailed by the Los Angeles Times.

Porter, a frontrunner for Governor’s Mansion, then explained she was seeking every vote, though she also sought to end the interview.

“I don’t want this all on camera,” she added.

KTLA reached out to the Porter campaign for comment. This story will be updated when a response is received.
