Coupert Pure hits user milestone as it balances the scale with eCommerce AI

Coupert Pure, the premium version of Coupert, the dedicated AI-enhanced shopping assistant, has reached 30,000 users since launching in March 2025. Where Coupert offers a free version of the software, Coupert Pure stands out as a subscription-based, privacy-first shopping assistant. The Google Chrome extension automatically applies coupons without the user having to spend time searching for the relevant voucher code.

As a premium service, users can also get recommendations without the hidden coupon rankings, affiliate-driven incentives, or unnecessary tracking. Reviews are generally positive with an average of 4 stars on the Chrome Web Store and comments such as “Thought it was just an ad-free money saver, but the AI for flights and hotels is actually super useful! Plus, the membership price is a steal compared to other AI tools.”

Coupon Pure estimates that it delivers savings to users of $100-$500 annually per subscription, with subscribers paying around $1.91 per month for an annual contract ($2.99/month otherwise). Based on AI Coupert Pure can identify and apply the optimal coupons for over 200,000 stores worldwide.

Jimmy zhao, ceo of coupert

Jimmy Zhao, CEO of Coupert, said: “Coupert Pure is our answer to a changing expectation in online shopping. Users want savings, but they also want to know that recommendations are made in their interest, not shaped by hidden commissions or unnecessary tracking.

“Reaching 30,000 Chrome users in the first year shows there is demand for a more transparent AI shopping assistant. The future of savings is not only about finding a coupon. It is about using AI to help people make better, faster and more confident purchase decisions.”

A look back at Coupert Pure

Coupert Pure was born out of Coupert, the free shopping assistant used by over 8 million users worldwide. Its free browser extension was launched in 2017 and has proven popular. Coupert makes revenue primarily through affiliated marketing commissions (1%–8% of sales) from over 76,000 partner retailers when users apply coupons or earn cash back.

Coupert Pure is a paid product that users pay for to remove the ads that the free version surfaces. It also claims to prevent data tracking and avoid “sponsored” or biased coupon results. There are two feature sets within Coupert Pure: the Smart shopping assistant and Coupert AI.

The Smart Shopping Assistant includes:

  • Auto application of Coupons
  • Price Comparisons
  • A virtual try-on for clothes
  • Search features that use text and images

An ability to customise your own assistant

Coupert AI provides:

  • AI+ Price Compare
  • AI+ Trip Planner
  • AI+ Consumer Reports
  • AI+ Coupon
  • AI+ Flights and Holtel
  • Automated Price drop alerts
  • Shopping Summaries
  • Recommendations

Its main selling point, though, is its privacy. It has no hidden coupons, commissions, tracking, or selling of information.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean?

AI is changing how retailers present and operate ecommerce sites. However, Coupert provides a counterbalance to AI within eCommerce sites, as it maximises discounts for consumers. Where Coupert provides a simple means for shoppers to maximise savings using coupons, it does so at the cost of ads and potentially sponsored offers that may not be the best value, though they will offer value.

Coupert Pure is for the more discerning shopper who does not want to be inundated with adverts or targeted offers.

It will be interesting to see how quickly Coupert Pure grows. Some consumers will actively seek out a reduction in advertising during their shopping experience. As Zhao concluded, “AI should reduce friction, not add another layer of noise. With Coupert Pure, we want to give users a tool that helps them save money while keeping the experience transparent, lightweight and focused on their needs.”

Coupert is enhancing trust by expanding its presence in public reviews. The company boasts a 4.7-star rating on Trustpilot, based on over 15,000 user reviews, and consistently aims to position itself as a savings platform for regular online shoppers.

Review numbers for Coupert Pure are lower, and there is no separate entry on Trustpilot. On the Google Store, it has only 18 ratings so far. Coupert should encourage users to add their own reviews. With 30,000 users, 18 reviews seems rather low.
