The driver was pulled over around 7:32 p.m. at the intersection of North McDowell Boulevard and Old Redwood Highway. During the stop, K-9 Duke alerted to the presence of narcotics in the car, the sheriff’s office said.
A search of the car uncovered more than a pound of suspected methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.
One passenger, identified as Joshua Dwyer, 33, of Modesto, was arrested for felony transportation and possession of methamphetamine for sale. Another passenger, 31-year-old Erica Lea, of Oakdale, was also arrested during the stop, SCSO said.
“The drugs were determined not to belong to the driver, who was released at the scene,” the sheriff’s office said.
