The search warrant was executed at residences in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park in connection with a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Unit investigation. During one search, K-9 Duke directed detectives to the location of over 8 pounds of methamphetamine and over 1 pound of heroin, according to SCSO. More than $15,000 in cash was also discovered.
The target of the investigation was identified as Antonio Medina, 49, of Rohnert Park. Medina was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of heroin for sale and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. He is being held without bail.
Another suspect, identified as Luis Alfonso Ruiz Gonzalez, 41, of Santa Rosa, was arrested for resisting a peace officer after the sheriff’s office said he fought with deputies during his detention. Gonzalez was released after posting $5,000 bail.
