Taylor Swift fan says autographed CDs shipped out of Kentucky distribution center stolen

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dozens of Taylor Swift fans say their autographed copies of her new album have been stolen, including a woman in Middle Tennessee, who showed Nexstar’s WKRN her empty delivery box.

Over the weekend, Ciera Netherton said she received a package that was supposed to contain four signed Taylor Swift CDs. In the video, you can see the box doesn’t look tampered with, but when Netherton picked up the box, she knew something was wrong.

“Unless these CDs are light as air, there’s nothing in my box,” Netherton said.

Now, dozens of people on Facebook say they’re in the same situation, and for people like Netherton, this is personal.

“I’ve never successfully gotten a signed merch drop before because I’m always late or they’re always sold out. This was the first time I was even lucky enough to be in on the merch drop,” Netherton told WKRN. “There’s a lot of people in this group chat that literally saved for the merch drop that used everything they had to get their hands on these, and to have your box show up empty like that really freakin’ sucks.”

According to Netherton, the CDs were shipped out of a DHL distribution center in Hebron, Kentucky. Pictures and video show that the package was shipped by DHL and delivered by the United States Postal Service.

WKRN reached out to DHL, who provided a statement saying, “At DHL we are aware of the reports regarding the signed CD’s that have been reported missing. We are actively investigating the case in close exchange with the shipper.”

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

“This is definitely an inside job somewhere, and I hope that they know it’s a felony to steal mail, and I don’t think we’re going to let this go anytime soon,” Netherton said.

Netherton said she asked if she could receive a new order but was told there were no replacements. Now, Swifties like Netherton are calling for help after a potential mail theft.

“We’re not looking for money back; we’re just hoping to get Taylor, Taylor Nation’s attention to say, please help us make this right and send us our signed inserts, because that’s all we want, and just to support her and the new album but also not lose out on hundreds of dollars in this really awful economy,” she expressed.

Stealing mail is a federal felony that could lead to up to 5 years in prison and hefty fines.
