Mike Gravens, the assistant fire chief for Mt. Washington, told the Louisville FOX affiliate WDRB that a single-engine plane clipped a tree line around 2:19 p.m. on Oct. 6.
The plane then crashed in a field near Mt. Washington United Methodist off Flat Lick Road, according to authorities.
Gravens told WDRB that the pilot, who was the only person on the plane, is expected to survive with minor injuries.
According to Gravens, it’s unclear why the plane was flying so low.
Natalie Chaudoin with the Louisville Regional Airport Authority told WDRB that the plane was a Pitts S-1C Special biplane, and the aircraft arrived Sunday night at Bowman Field.
