McComb shooting kills 19-year-old, injures another

MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – One 19-year-old was killed and another 19-year-old was injured during a shooting in McComb, police said.

The shooting happened in the 400 block of Beech Street just after 7:30 p.m. on October 6, 2025.

McComb Police Chief Earnest Perry said officers found a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound in the alley between Sedgewick and Beech Streets. The victim was transported to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center for treatment, but he died from his injuries.

Perry said the second victim was shot in the leg and was transported by a private vehicle to the hospital. He was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment.

Police have not released the identities of the victims. Perry said the department is pursuing multiple leads. Anyone with information can contact the McComb Police Department.
