Man killed in single vehicle crash on Macon Road

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Box Springs man was killed this morning in a one-car crash  on Macon Road near Callumet Drive.

The Columbus Police Department says on Tuesday at about 9:00 a.m., the vehicle of Sammie Seldon, 73, was in the westbound lane of Macon Road when it crossed into the median and struck a tree. The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office says Seldon died of blunt force trauma injuries as a result of the crash.

A second crash happened as a result of the crash when two eastbound vehicles collided trying to avoid the oncoming car. One of those drivers suffered minor injuries.
