The program will offer youth the chance to explore Japan and Italy through immersive, hands-on educational experiences designed to promote STEM learning, cultural exchange, and healthy living.
“These trips are more than just travel — they’re life-changing educational opportunities,” 4-H officials said. “Participants will explore new cultures, gain real-world knowledge, and make unforgettable memories while representing Louisiana abroad.”
Japan STEM Experience
The first trip, the Japan STEM Experience, will expose participants to cutting-edge science and technology. Highlights include simulated earthquake demonstrations, a ride on Japan’s famous bullet train, a visit to the JAXA Space Dome, and more.
An information session for the Japan trip will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m.
Italy Healthy Living Adventure
The second trip, the Italy Healthy Living Adventure, focuses on the cuisine and culture of southern Italy. Students will tour a buffalo mozzarella farm, visit olive groves and a chocolate factory, take part in street food tours, and even attend a cooking class in Rome.
An information session for the Italy trip is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m.
