Tropical Storm Jerry has formed in the central Atlantic with wind speeds at 45 mph. The first forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center shows Jerry slowly gaining strength and becoming a Category 1 Hurricane later this week. The projected path is similar to many tropical systems this season as it will track north of the Caribbean Sea followed by a hard northerly turn that will keep it out to sea. This does not pose a threat to reach the Gulf.
