
Dustin Paulman, 23, is facing charges of felony fleeing, kidnapping, theft by receiving and first-degree battery.
According to a press release from the Arkansas State Police, around 9 a.m., troopers pulled over a silver Jeep driven by Pulman near the 65-mile marker, headed north on Interstate 49.
The release says Paulman fled at a high rate of speed and left the interstate.
Shortly after the pursuit began, Paulman crashed at the intersection of Sang Avenue and Berry Street.
According to the release, Paulman fled on foot, headed east. A passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
The release says ASP was able to locate Paulman with assistance from the Fayetteville Police Department. He was taken into custody around 10 a.m.
Paulman and the passenger were taken to Washington Regional Medical Center. The passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Fayetteville police told ASP the vehicle Paulman was driving had been stolen overnight. The release says Paulmans also had a nationwide felony warrant out of Washington County for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, and was in violation of his parole.
The release says Paulman refused medical treatment and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
