Nation's, Bay Area staple known for burgers and pies, opening at premier SF tourist destination
Nation’s will open Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 145 Jefferson St., Suite 200 at 8 a.m. It is located across the street from San Francisco sourdough bread fixture Boudin Bakery.
Hours for the Fisherman’s Wharf location are from Sunday to Thursday at 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to a Nation’s spokesperson. They close at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Nation’s takes over the space that was once occupied by wax museum Madame Tussauds, which shuttered last year.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on the grand opening day, and San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie is scheduled to give a speech. The opening is just in time for Fleet Week when plenty of visitors have historically made a trip to the city.
Nation’s owners called the opening at Fisherman’s Wharf a dream come true, according to the spokesperson. This is the first Nation’s in San Francisco.
“It is a historic spot for us, as the owners have always dreamed of being there,” the spokesperson wrote in an email to KRON4.
Other nearby locations are in Daly City and South San Francisco. Nation’s remains family-owned since opening its first location in San Pablo in 1952. It has since opened more than 30 restaurants across Northern California.
