According to officials with the Greenfield Police Department, Geraldine Johnson was struck by a vehicle just after 10 a.m. on Sunday in the 1600 block of Melody Lane in Greenfield. Johnson was reportedly struck by a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 as it was traveling northbound on Melody Lane.
The department said that Johnson was crossing Melody Lane from the parking lot in front of Bealls clothing store when she was reportedly struck by the truck. Johnson was treated at the scene and was later transported by air ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital. Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the truck, identified by police as a 45-year-old from Alabama, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, the release said. The crash remains under investigation by the Hancock County fatal accident crash team.
