Appeals court to reconsider Louisiana Ten Commandments law

BATON ROUGE, La. (LouisianaFirst) – The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments on the Louisiana Ten Commandments law.

The law requires the Ten Commandments to be posted in classrooms.

In June, a three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit ruled the law unconstitutional.

The ruling on Monday from the full Fifth Circuit Court nullifies that ruling.

“Glad to see the Fifth Circuit is taking this en banc. Looking forward to those arguments in court,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

A date for oral argument has not yet been scheduled.

“Good news out of the Fifth Circuit tonight. Looking forward to seeing this case to victory,” said Gov. Jeff Landry.
