1 seriously injured after apparent explosion in Plainfield
Public emergency reporting systems indicate crews with the Plainfield Fire Territory were dispatched to the 2100 block of Shadowbrook Drive to investigate a reported explosion around 7:30 p.m. When crews arrived in the area, they found a single-family home that appeared to have sustained “some moderate damage consistent with some type of explosion.”

PFT indicated that a small fire was still actively burning when units made it to the scene. That fire was rapidly extinguished, according to PFT.
Crews transported one person from the scene to a local hospital with serious injuries.
PFT investigators and utility companies have responded to the scene to try to pin down the exact cause of the explosion.
