Around 10:24 p.m., ATCEMS said it was on scene of an auto-pedestrian crash at Orland Boulevard and South First Street.
The Austin Police Department said officers shut down South First Street to investigate the crash.
Police said the driver did not stay at the crash scene.
According to ATCEMS, paramedics responded to a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. The post said CPR was performed on the adult patient.
At 10:30 p.m., ATCEMS said paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Both police and medics said drivers should expect “extended” road closures and to use different routes.
