'Love of tailgates': Glenn Powell showcases Smash Kitchen line, screens new TV show in south Austin
Powell, along with chef and content creator Nick DiGiovanni, gave the tailgating experience to Austinites at Walmart Supercenter in south Austin. Powell and DiGiovanni used condiments from Smash Kitchen, which is the condiment line Powell co-founded and announced earlier this year.
The Smash Kitchen organic condiments include Organic Hot Honey Ketchup, Organic Spicy Mayonnaise and Organic Hot Honey BBQ Sauce. The condiments are exclusively sold nationwide at Walmart stores and Walmart.com, KXAN reported in April.
“I’ve been a Longhorn my whole life, and I think just like the tailgating experience has been sort of a big part of my entire family. So Smash Kitchen came from the place of me wanting to really give my family the best. I think it’s my love of tailgates, my love of cooking, my love of bringing people together that really started this whole thing,” Powell said.
In addition to showcasing his Smash Kitchen brand, Powell also showed a screening for his new sports-comedy show on Hulu, “Chad Powers.”
“Being from Texas, we know taste is more important than ever,” said Sameer Mahta, co-founder and CEO of Smash Kitchen. “One of our co-founders is Glenn Powell, who just launched a fantastic TV show called ‘Chad Powers.’ So we decided to come here to his home town to premiere the show.”
