Louisiana Film Prize to host screenings at Bossier Parish Community College

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) has been selected as a screening site for the Louisiana Film Prize for the second straight year.

The Louisiana Film Prize is part of Prize Fest, a five-day festival that showcases talent in comedy, film, food, and music throughout Northwest Louisiana. This year’s Prize Fest will take place from Wednesday, October 15, to Sunday, October 19, in downtown Shreveport.

“The Film Prize is all about celebrating creativity and community, and we’re thrilled to partner with BPCC again to bring this experience to even more people across our region,” said Gregory Kallenberg, founder of the Prize Foundation. “BPCC’s support helps us showcase the incredible talent of filmmakers while making the festival more accessible to students, families, and audiences who might be experiencing Prize Fest for the first time.”

The Film Prize portion will kick off on Friday, October 17, with 20 original short films, all filmed in Louisiana, competing to win $50,000, the world’s largest cash prize for a short film. Screenings will be held at BPCC’s Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre in Building C, 6229 E. Texas St. in Bossier City.
