The victim was allegedly robbed around 12:34 p.m., and provided police with a description of the getaway car. Fremont PD used its system of automated license plate reading cameras to find the car attempted to pull the suspects over.
The driver attempted to evade the pursuing officers by heading northbound onto the I-880 freeway and into the city of San Leandro. During the chase, the driver crashed the car once on the highway and twice on San Leandro surface streets, according to police. No one was injured in the crashes.
“The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop in San Leandro, and four suspects fled from the car,” Fremont PD said.
Police caught the suspects on foot and the victim’s property was found inside the suspects’ car, according to police. Police suspect that the group was involved in a similar robbery that happened in a nearby city Friday.
