“For more than 100 days, I made a promise that my administration would make a unified, transparent government focused on quality of life and safety of our residents and prosperity,” Braveboy said.
On Friday morning, she spoke to a full house at Prince George’s County Community College in Largo about her accomplishments in her first 100 days in office.
Some of the topics Braveboy addressed included crime, education, cleaning up the community and attracting new business growth.
“We have been hard at work cleaning up our streets and shopping centers, making our public spaces and neighborhoods a place of pride. And we are seeing crime continue to go down, we are seeing today a 34 percent reduction in homicides and 56 percent reduction in carjackings,” she said.
Many who attended the event to hear Braveboy’s speech, like Hayley Evans from Upper Marlboro, said they were excited about the positive news for the community.
“The list of things she has been able to accomplish in 100 days is just unbelievable. From improving crime to public education and public safety to cleaning up the streets and keeping the county beautiful is amazing and is an honor to have grown up here,” said Evans.
More than 300 people attended the event, including former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
