“We’ve won games in different ways and that’s kind of a bright spot as far as a coach, you know, you wanna know that you’re not a one trick pony, that, you know, we need to throw it, we can throw it, we need to run it, we can run it, we need to play defense, we can blow up and play defense,” Wilburn said. “We’ve shown that ability and I think that that’s kind of the trademark of who I want us to be and who I think that we can be.”
Wake Forest football commit Jamarcea Plater, has embraced the opportunity to improve.
“Every game we come in with a mindset like, you got to do better than last week. You got to face this mistake and turn this to a gas, like, you got to do everything as fast and as good. You just got to improve on every aspect that you didn’t improve on last week,” Plater said.
His sidekick, Gabe Lockett, challenges himself in the same way.
“Being able to hit hard every play, you know, he says if we mess up a play, just go out there and hit the next person as hard as you can, whoever you see, so I’m able to use that and not be afraid of nothing,” Lockett said.
Both backs will hit the field again on Friday, October 3 against Airline.
